    In the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) the Soviet tanker Sovetskoy Gruzii ran aground on the small Danish island of Sprogoe, between Zealand and Funen. The 15,000 ton tanker has refused help from the Danish rescue boats.....a common practice for Soviet ships in distress. There has bene reports that some oil has leaked from the tanker.

    SYNOPSIS: A Soviet tanker, the Sovetskoy Gruzill has gone aground on the small Danish island of Sprogoe, between Zealand and Funen. The 15,000 ton tanker got into difficulties in the early hours of the morning. At day light, when Danish rescue craft asked if assistance was needed, the captain refused it. This is common practice with Soviet vessels in distress. At this stage it's not known how the accident occurred, but there have been reports that some oil is leaking from the vessel.
