There's a new world gumboot throwing record. It was established last night during the World Gumboot Throwing Championships, held for the third successive year at Gerringong, south of Kiama NSW The championships have been recognised by the publishers of the Guiness Book of Records, who've requested details of last night's results.
Gerringong dairyman, Mr. Griff Miller, failed to better his previous record of one-hundred-and-eight-feet, nine-and-a-half inches. However Lyn Rutledge retained the women's title. Then as darkness fall...came the new world record. Mr. Ron Paton, of Kiama, tossed his boot one-hundred-and-eleven-feet, two-and-a-half inches.
