  • Description

A dozen Socialist Party extremists in Paris should their support for the Arab cause in the Middle East was at a demonstration on Thursday night (11 October).

Several hundred Arab supporters rallied at Stalingrad Square, a wicking clase area, and marched to Clichy in the foreign student quarter. They chanted loudly and waved placards bearing slogans of support for the Arab soldiers and the Palestinian commandos.

The twelve extremist groups which organised the rally issued a joint statement placing the responsibility for the war with Israel, which they described as a "colonialist and expansionist state." They saluted the arab combatants against Israel, "the Zionist enemy", and re-affirmed the right of the Arab people to take the Israeli-occupied regions by armed struggle.

The statement paid special tribute to the Palestinians, who had been excelled from their homeland by Israel, and repressed by "Arab reactionaries" - a reference to the expulsion of the Palestinians from joxian in September 1971. The statement criticised Jordan for taking a political direction towards a compromise with Israel which would be forced on the Palestinians.

The demonstration - which followed a similar rally the previous night outside the Egyptian Embassy in Paris - reflected Egypt's grim extermination to hold out against Israeli counter attacks in the Sinai desert.

The joint statement described Israel as a "colonialist and expansionist" state. It re-affirmed the right of the Arab people to take the Israeli-occupied lands by armed struggle. The demonstration - which followed a similar rally the previous night - reflected Egypt's grim determination to hold out against the Israelis in the Sinai desert.
