    Background: The job has started in South Vietnam of moving the country's was refugees, into more permanent homes than those provided in the existing refugee camps.

    Under a plan announced by President Nguyen Van Thieu, the first convoys moved off Friday (1 June), taking refugees from An Loi refugee camp in Bien Hoa province near Saigon to Tan Rai village in Lam Dong province, about 200 kilometres (120 miles) from Saigon. At the new location, refugee families are being provided with Permanent homes, and land to cultivate.

    There were more than 12-thousand refugees in the An Loi refugee camp alone.
