    The Middle-East Economic Co-operation Congress opened in Istanbul on Monday (20 October) to discuss the setting-up of new relations with Turkey.

    The congress was organised by Turkey's Economic and Social Studies Committee and opened by the Committee's President, Dr. Nejat ???.

    It will convene until Friday (24 October) and Dr. ??? said in his opening speech that he was confident of "good results."
    The congress is being attended by Cabinet Ministers, Under-Secretaries and general managers of Governments and companies from Morocco, Iraq, Iran, Turkish-Cyprus, Libya, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and Turkey.

    At the opening session, the visiting countries all agreed that they were ready to offer Turkey "all kinds" of economic co-operation.
