  • Description

Visnews filmed the flight and arrival of Britain's second Bristol Britannia aircraft delivered to Cuba.

The second airliner is for the Compania Cubana de Aviacon. Captaining the aircraft was Cubana's chief check pilot, Bill Cook, Among the 33 people on board was Mr. Peter Masefield (Managing Director of Bristol Aircraft Ltd.)
Cubana's First Britannia arrived at Havana December 17 and throughout the political upheaval flew regular services between Havana and Mexico City, New York or Miami. One of its passengers was Fidel Castro, the Cuban leader, returning to Havana from his official visit to Venezuela.

With the arrival of the second aircraft, it is understood that the airline intends to start daily Britannia services to New York.

In the opening days of January, immediately after the departure of ex-President Batista from Cuba, the first Britannia used to fly Americans out of the country and to bring back exiled Cubans.
