    AS PLANNED IN THE FRENCH CO-OPERATION AGREEMENTS WITH AFRICAN AND MALAGASY STATES, JOINT COMMISSIONS MEET AT REGULAR INTERVALS EITHER IN PARIS OR THE COUNTRY CONCERNED. ON WEDNESDAY (15 MAY) A MEETING WAS HELD AT THE STATE SECRETARIAT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE JOINT COMMISSION OF FRANCE AND THE IVORY COAST.

    MONETARY, FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC MATTERS WERE DISCUSSED TOGETHER WITH TRADE PROBLEMS AND AN EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION CONCERNING AGREEMENTS SIGNED WITH OTHER COUNTRIES.

    THE IVORY COAST ECONOMICS MINISTER, M. KONAN BEDIE, LED HIS COUNTRY'S DELEGATION, WHILE FRANCE'S SPOKESMAN AT THE MEETING WAS CO-OPERATION MINISTER, M. BOURGES.

    IT WAS STATED THAT FRANCE REMAINED THE MAIN IMPORTER OF IVORY COAST GOODS. CHIEF EXPORT ITEMS FROM THE IVORY COAST WERE COCOA, COFFEE, BANANAS AND ANANAS, ROUGH TIMBER, COTTON AND RUBBER.

    THE CURRENT TRADE POLICY OF THE TWO COUNTRIES WAS REVIEWED AND DISCUSSED.
