    In Seoul today (Thursday), the chief economic ministers of South Korea and Taiwan began a Three-day annual conference on increasing trade and information between the two countries.

    The meeting between the South Korean Economic Planning Minister, Mr. Wan-son Tao, and Taiwan's Economic Minister, Mr. Y. S. Sun, was preceded by working-level committee discussions.

    Talks at ministerial level will contre on cooperative measures for the development of machinery and petrochemical industries, increase of agricultural product import quotas between Taiwan and South Korea, and an exchange of experts and information on nuclear energy technology.

    Mr. Sund said at the opening session today that close cooperation between the two countries in exploring world markets was an urgent task in the current, changing world situation.

    His Korean counterpart said the necessity and feasibility of regional economic cooperation had been greatly increased recently and trade promotion would best serve the interests of both countries.

    Trade between South Korea and Taiwan last year was worth 51-million U.S. dollars.- mostly in Taiwan's favour.
