    Russell Langelle, 36-year-old US Moscow Embassy security officer, refused to comment on Soviet Government accusations of his being a spy, and his expulsion from the USSR, when he arrived at Schipol Airport, Holland, October 19.

    Of his arrest and interrogation he said "it was drastic", and lasted two hours. He was indirectly asked to work for Soviet espionage, but refused.

    The charge against Mr. Langelle: he "used his stay in the Soviet Union to carry out espionage work".

    He is alleged to have met an American agent aboard a bus, October 16, and money and note books with invisible ink writing are supposed to have changed hands. The Soviet version says passengers saw what happened and held Langelle and the Soviet citizen with him. Mr. Langelle says he was arrested as he left the bus.

    With his wife and three children, Russel Langelle will stay in Amsterdam until he receives further instructions from the US State Department.

    During his 20 months in Moscow he was responsible for the safety of US Embassy employees, and for secret documents.
