    A delegation of British Liberals visited Amman on Thursday (6 January) as part of a two-day Middle East tour at the invitation of the Arab League. The delegation arrived in Jordan on Wednesday (5 January). On Thursday, the three-man delegation met with the Jordanian Prime Minister and the Minister of Information.

    The three delegates were Mr. Michael Stead, a lecturer on government at Manchester University; Mr. Simon Hebditch, Vice-President of the Young Liberals and Mr. Louis Eaks, a former President of the Young Liberals.

    SYNOPSIS: Amman...one of a series of stops in the Middle East being made by a delegation of British Liberals. The three-man delegation arrived in the Jordanian capital on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Jordan at the invitation of the Arab League. They'd already visited Egypt and Syria as part of their fact-finding mission to explore the results of the Israeli presence int eh territories they've occupied since the Arab-israeli War of 1967. On Thursday, the Liberal delegation met with Jordan's new Prims Minister, Mr. Ahmed Al-Lawzi.

    The day before, the Liberals had visited the Jordanian border area at Al-Ramtha. There, they were welcomed by the Mayor of the town and other local officials. The three delegates were Mr. Michael Stead, a lecturer on government at Manchester University; Mr. Simon Hebditch, Vice-President of the Young Liberals, and Mr. Louis Eaks, a former President of the Young Liberals.

    Later on 'thursday, the delegates met with the Minister of Information at the Ministry' Amman offices.

    They were welcomed by the Minister, Mr. Adnan Odeh. On their visit, the delegates were accompanied by a journalist, Mr. Michael Field. Among the subjects the delegates touched upon during their visit with government officials was the growth of tourism in Jordan and its future as an industry in the country.
