    THE FIVE, AND A THIRD RUSSIAN DIPLOMAT, WHO WAS PROHIBITED FROM RE-ENTERING THE COUNTRY, HAD BEEN DECLARED PERSONA NON-GRATA FOR ACTIVITIES CONNECTED WITH RECENT STUDENT AGITATION IN ETHIOPIA. AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ALSO ACCUSED THEM OF ACTIONS DETRIMENTAL TO THE COUNTRY'S NATIONAL INTERESTS.

    THE TWO EXPELLED RUSSIANS WERE MIKHAEL NOVIKOV, RESIDENT CORRESPONDENT OF NOVOSTI PRESS AGENCY, AND VICTOR MATVEEV, RESIDENT TASS NEWS AGENCY CORRESPONDENT; RE-ENTRY WAS DENIED TO MR. VLADIMIR CHAVAEV OF THE SOVIET PERMANENT EXHIBITION IN ADDIS ABABA. THE THREE CZECHOSLOVAKS WERE MR. JOSEF BARTON, AN ATTACHE STAVANEK AND MR. LADISLAV POSLUSNY, BOTH OF THE COMMERCIAL SECTION OF THE CZECHOSLOVAK EMBASSY.
