King Hussein of Jordan presided over the graduation of cadets from the Royal Military Academy at Oweijan, north of Amman, on Tuesday (21 September).

For the graduates, the ceremony was the successful culmination of two years of hard training. It was the 10th graduation ceremony at the Academy since its inception in 1950.

SYNOPSIS: In Jordan, cadet officers of the Royal Military Academy graduated in the presence of king Hussein on Tuesday. For the young officers, who now become Second Lieutenants, it was the end of two years of strenuous training.

King Hussein took the salute as the cadets marched past. High-ranking officers in the Jordanian armed forces attended the official Parade with the Monarch.

Proud parents of the graduating cadets were invited to the ceremony to watch their sons receive the rewards of two year's training from King Hussein.

The new officers will go straight into the Jordanian army. For the Oweijan Academy, which is located north of Amman, it was the tenth passing-out parade since its inception in 1950.

After the ceremonial occasion, it was back to the barracks for the finishing touches in their training for the new officers.
