King Mohandra and Queen Ratna of Nepal toured the British Exhibition June 14, during a visit to New York. Accompanying them on their stroll round the exhibits were Nepalese Ambassador Rishikesh Shaha, Brigadier Malla, Military Secretary W. R. McFadaen, co-chairman of the British Exhibition and C. S. Watkinson permanent representative of the British Overseas Fair in America.
The multi-million dollar trade fair shows a glimpse of nearly all industries trading with America. The Royal party toured the House of Lloyds - one aspect of Britain's shipping - saw specimens of English China, including Wedgewood, examined the show of British cars - on the King's own request - and learnt how Britain makes money - at the Royal Mint stand where Crown pieces (5 shillings) are sold for a dollar.
