Egypt won the gold medal for soccer at the first past week. They beat Sudan?
Egypt won the gold medal for soccer at the first past week. They beat Sudan three-two at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday (January 4). The win gave Egypt its 36th gold medal of the games.
The Egyptians were quickly into stride and lad two-nil at half time. The first goal came after a free kick near the goal-mouth and the second from a penalty.
After Egypt had scored again in the second half to make the score thee-nil, the Sudanese staged a fight back. They scored twice and looked as if they could at least draw the match. But time ran out.
The bronze medal for soccer was won by Ghana.
