    THE EXHIBITION OF POTTERY AND CERAMICS BY STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF POTTERY AND CERAMICS AT THE KUMASI UNIVERSITY, OPENED AT THE ARTS CENTRE IN ACCRA ON MONDAY.

    THE EXHIBITION WAS OPENED BY MR. DANIEL CHAPMAN NYAHO, CHAIRMAN OF THE ARTS COUNCIL OF GHANA, WHO SAID THAT THE EXHIBITION SOUGHT TO PRESERVE THE BEST GHANA'S TRADITIONAL ARTS.

    THE EXHIBITION INCLUDED AN ASHANTI POT, TRADITIONALLY USED BY ASHANTI TRIBESMEN TO KEEP MOMENTOS OF DEAD MEMBERS OF THEIR ROYAL FAMILY AND PLACED ON THEIR GRAVES.

    AMONG THOSE PRESENT AT THE OPENING CEREMONY WERE MANY AMBASSADORS TO GHANA AND CULTURAL ATTACHES FROM FOREIGN EMBASSIES.
