    Saudi Arabia is about to receive its first TriStar aircraft, which is now undergoing a flight test programme at a United States' aircraft company based in California.

    With its delivery any time now, Saudi Arabia will become the first Arab nation to own a wide-bodied aircraft like TriStar. The Saudi Government has ordered three more -- one of which is due in Saudi Arabia in July.

    The first TriStar is scheduled to go into operation from August.

    SYNOPSIS: This luxurious new aircraft -- the TriStar -- will soon become Saudi Arabia's first wide-bodied super jet. It is now undergoing flight tests at its make's base in California and is due to go into service in August. The aircraft can carry two-hundred-and-fifty-three passengers. It's due to be delivered to Saudi Arabian Airlines any time now.

    With its delivery, Saudi Arabia will gain the distinction of being the first Arab nation to own such an aircraft. The Saudi Arabians have ordered three more -- one of which is due to be delivered in July.

    The airline will also be the first to own to new model TriStars which will be available in nineteen-seventy-seven. They are equipped with Rolls-Royce's uprated RB-two-eleven engines, giving the plane a longer range. This one, now being tested, has a basic Rolls-Royce engine, similar to the more than one-hundred TriStar now serving airlines in the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany and several Asian countries.
