    THE PRESIDENT WENT TO THE OPENING OF THE ORANGE FESTIVAL AT FAMAGUSTA IN EASTERN CYPRUS ON THURSDAY(12 MARCH) AND TOLD A CHEERING GREEK CYPRIOT CROWD TO REMAIN FAITHFUL TO GREEK TRADITIONS.

    THE PRESIDENT SAID HE WANTED TO GIVE THE CROWD ONE PERCEPT...."TO REMAIN LOYAL TO OUR HISTORY AND GREEK TRADITIONS, AND FAITHFUL TO GOD AND GREECE, CONTINUE THE STRUGGLE FOR A BETTER FUTURE FOR CYPRUS".

    HE SAID THAT THE ORANGE FESTIVAL AND TURNED INTO CELEBRATION OF HIS ESCAPE FROM WHAT HE CALLED "MURDEROUS BULLETS".
