Michael Spinks of the United states Riskiev, the only Russian in the middleweight finals, after raking him with left jabs and a round-house right. After Spinks had the Russian take a standing count at 1:20 of the third, Riskiev motioned to the referee that he had been hit with a low blow and could not continue. The fight was stopped at 1:54 in the third, but the Russian was not given a disqualification.

His brother, Corporal Leon Spinks of the United States Marines, sent Sixto Sorias of Cuba reeling and flat to the canvas on his face to end the light heavyweight finals.

SYNOPSIS: Riskiev immensely strong taken that good right hand in the second and still coming back.
