    FINAL RESULTS OF LAST TUESDAY'S ELECTIONS FOR A NEW SOUTH KOREAN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY PUBLISHED TODAY (SATURDAY) SHOWED THAT PRESIDENT-ELECT CHUNG HEE PARK'S DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAD WON 100 OF THE 175 SEATS.THE OPPOSITION CIVIL RULE PARTY LED BY EX-PRESIDENT POSUN YUN WON 41.

    THE VOTING RETURNS REFLECTED THE LOWEST-EVER POLL IN SOUTH KOREA, AND ASSURES THE NEW GOVERNMENT OF A STRONG WORKING MAJORITY.OBSERVERS HAVE COMMENTED THAT THE UNOFFICIAL BOYCOTT OF THE POLLING BOOTHS BY MANY VOTERS WAS A BLOW TO THE ELECTION HOPES OF THE CIVIL RULE PARTY, WHICH CAMPAIGNED VIGOROUSLY FOR A RETURN TO CIVILIAN RULE.
