    ONE OF THE EVENTS WHICH TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY (SUNDAY) - THE SECOND AND FINAL DAY OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - WAS THE 10,000 METRES. OF THE 8 RACES OUR FILM SHOWS THAT BETWEEN FRED ANTON MAIER (NORWAY) AND ANT ANTSON (RUSSIA). THE EVENTUAL OVERALL CHAMPION DID NOT DO SO WELL IN THIS GRUELLING MARATHON FOR HE WAS BEATEN BY MAIER, WHO WITH A TIME OF 15 MINS. 52.6 SECS CAME THIRD IN THE OVERALL 10,000 METRE CLASS - BEHIND FELLOW NORWEGIANS JOHANNSSEN AND MOE.

    THE CHAMPIONSHIP WAS DECIDED ON OVERALL PERFORMANCE OVER FOUR DISTANCES: 500 - 1,500 - 5,000 AND 10,000 METRES.
