    Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau has spent most of the last three days of his visit to the Soviet Union in the city of Kiev. Accompanied by Walter Deakon, a Canadian member of Parliament who was born in Ukrania, as translator, Mr Trudeau spent several hours at a computer factory with Mr Deakon translating.

    Later the Canadian leader laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown solider.

    SYNOPSIS: The Canadian Prime Minister, Pierre Trudeau has spent most of his last three days in the Soviet Union in the city of Kiev. One of the highlights of his tour was a visit to an electronics factory.

    Mr Trudeau is the first Canadian Prime Minister to visit the Soviet Union. Kiev, considered one of the most beautiful cities in Russian presented a sunny face to the visiting leader. After a tour of the factory, Mr Trudeau drove through streets lined with cheering people to a meeting with local authorities.

    Later Mr Trudeau went on to Tashkent, capital of the Soviet central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan.
