  • Description

In Peking Saturday (April 29) the official news agency of the People's Republic of China issued a statement accusing President Nixon of trying to gloss over what were called American "crimes of aggression" in Vietnam.

It was their first personal attack on the President since his visit to Peking, and follows an earlier protest from Moscow (April 16) about the bombing of North Vietnam, specifically of Haiphong harbour.

Official North Vietnamese film has also been released, showing damage claimed to have been caused by the American air-attack on Haiphong on April 10.

This telerecording - made from the official North Vietnamese release - shows harbour damage and air-raid aftermath scenes. We apologise for the imperfect quality - which was beyond our control.
