Greek microbiologist Dr. Theodores Spyleopoulos is to received full government co-operation to assist in his research on a new method of cancer detection. This was announced Oct. 19 by Greek Government Health Under-secretary Psareas.
In his Aegion, Peloponnese, laboratory Dr. Spyleopoules works on his discover, which he claims enables him to detect cancer long before the conventional methods.
He told reporters that his method/consists of detecting cancer and other malignant tumours by blood cell examination. After five years of studies it has been established that cancer growths appear in persons in whose blood there is a number of 'immature' blood cells. These are also detectable in other illnesses but they disappear when treated.
If Dr. Spyleopoules's method is substantiated by wide application it will be a boon to potential cancer sufferers. The growth will be treatable long before it has established a firm hold in the patient.
