At the same time the Pakistan Government of President Yahya Khan has accused India of launching fresh attacks on the country's Eastern wing and throwing its Air Force into the battle. India denied the accusation.

    Fighting has been reported along several border fronts between India and East Pakistan. This filmed report from the Indian-East Pakistan border town of Agartala shows reported bomb, or artillery damage in areas of the town. It comes from Visnews cameraman, Prem Prakash.

    SYNOPSIS: Fears of an all-out war between India and Pakistan have been gathering momentum.

    This is the township of Agartala in India, fronting the border with East Pakistan. The Indian Government claims these buildings were damaged by an artillery salvo from Pakistan forces.

    It was but one of the many incidents reported along the border areas between India and Pakistan during recent weeks. As the storekeepers toiled to clear the debris, diplomats from both sides and other countries were striving to prevent an all-out war between the two nations. On Tuesday Pakistan President Yahya Khan declared a state of emergency throughout his country and placed his people on an immediate war footing. President Yahya accused India of launching fresh attacks on his country's Eastern wing. The Indian Government denied the accusation.
