Background: Today the aircraft manufacturing firm of Vickers Viscount was visited by the Duke of Edinburgh, and many historic
craft were on display in his honour, including the new-renowned Schneider Trophy Seaplane, and Spitfires. There was also a special display of photographs of those air pioneers Aloock and Brown to whom the whole science of air transport and flight today ones such an enormous debt.

Among the latest examples of job propulsion were the Scimitars, the Swift Mark 7, and an anti-tank missile. The Duke also saw a Vickers type 888 Caided Missile, and inspected a Continental 810 the 1st of 15 aircraft ordered for service in the U.S.A. It is to be delivered next week.

In his comprehensive tour of the Vickers Weybridge works, the Duke also saw a Stratosphere chamber and various wooden full scale mock-ups of craft under test. The tour of the factory finished in the erection shops of the Vickers Vanguard.
