SYNOPSIS: The English football team, Leeds United, scored a convincing five-nil victory over Rapid-Bucharest in ENG on Wednesday. First score came after a quarter of an hour when the Bucharest goalkeeper accidentally knocked in a shot by Johnny Giles. The goalkeeper had been drawn too far from the net.

Twelve minutes later, Giles was involved in another Leeds goal. He knocked the ball on to Jordan and Alan Clarke scored, making it two-nil. Leeds dominated play throughout the game, a quarter-final of the European Cup-Winners Cup.

Another attacking movement by Leeds began when Norman Hunter took the ball forward from well inside his team's territory. He linked up with Trevor Cherry and the ball went to Peter Lorimer who scored Leeds's third goal. Lorimer had been waiting for the pass, well positioned in the penalty area. His first goal brought the half-time score to three-nil.

In the second half, Leeds scored twice. This goal gave Lorimer his second of the match. He beat a Rumanian player to slam the ball past. The final goal, making it five-nil, came from Joe Jordan after a little more than an hour's play.
