  • Description

In Zambia, the exiled Rhodesian Patriotic Front co-leader, Joshua Nkomo, has condemned the Rhodesian forces that carried out a raid at Mboroma in Zambia. He called Mboroma "a re-education centre for captured members of the Rhodesian forces." He said thirty-two people were released during the raid and four of his own people killed. He claimed two Rhodesian aircraft were shot down. Mr. Nkomo said captured members of the Rhodesian forces are kept in humane conditions according to international law. He condemned the tactics used in the raid, and warned Prime Minister Ian Smith that the war they were fighting is in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) not Zambia.
