  • Description

The first Ambassador from Equatorial Guinea to be appointed to the People's Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville) has presented his credentials to President Ngouabi. Speaking at the ceremony, the new Ambassador, Mr. Clemente Aqueda, said he hoped links between the two countries would be strengthened in, as he put it, the interest of forming in Central Africa a common front to eliminate colonialism, neo-colonialism and all forms of exploitation. Equatorial Guinea is a small country consisting of the island of Fernando Poo and the mainland province of Rio Muni. It was a Spanish colony until December 1968. Troubles erupted soon after independence, but gradually Equatorial Guinea has enlarged its contacts with the outside world.
