If you want to get ahead, socially that is, hairdressers of Great Britain advise: "Dye your hair". To prove their point, tints and dyes if all shades were the theme at the Hairdressing Exhibition of Great Britain filmed in London by Visnews May 25. The exhibition continues until May 28.
Stylists from France, Germany, Switzerland and Holland were among competitors taking part in the exhibition - the second held in Britain. Hairdressers had their own models to exhibit their styles - and worked with the precision of artists.
Star stylists included Guy Wuillot, Salvator Commental of Paris, Wilfred Stubchen of Germany, Roger Rohmes from Germany, Miss Van Brecht, Holland, Albert Pourriere, Antonio and Jean Pfeil, all Parisians.
Keynote to the exhibition was that lighter coloured hair makes a woman look younger - and that to be mousey is definitely a social handicap.
Result of the competition will be announced May 26.
