    A LARGE CONGREGATION INCLUDING REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AND OTHER BRITISH NATIONALS LIVING IN GHANA ATTENDED A THANKSGIVING AND COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE AT THE ST. GEORGES GARRISON CHURCH, BURMA CAMP, ACCRA, ON SUNDAY TO MARK THE R.A.F. VICTORY IN THE 1940 BATTLE OF BRITAIN. THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER IN GHANA, MR. HAROLD SMEDLEY, READ A PSALM AND THE SERMON WAS PREACHED BY FATHER ROBERT OKINE, CHAPLAIN OF ADISADEL COLLEGE, CAPE COAST.

    THE SERVICE COMMEMORATED THE GREAT VICTORY WON BY THE ROYAL AIR FORCE OVER NAZI GERMANY'S LUFTWAFFE, THUS SAVING BRITAIN FROM GERMAN INVASION. THE CONGREGATION ALSO INCLUDED DIPLOMATS AND OFFICERS OF THE GHANA ARMED FORCES WITH THEIR WIVES. THE SERVICE ITSELF WAS CONDUCTED BY THE CHAPLAIN TO THE GHANA ARMED FORCES, THE REVEREND J. DADSON.
