    THREE BRITISH RIDERS MADE IT A CLEAN SWEEP FOR BRITAIN ON SATURDAY (22 JULY 1967) IN THE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN GRAND PRIX. THEY WERE MIKE HAILWOOD, BILL IVY AND PHIL READ.

    HAILWOOD RETAINED HIS WORLD 350 c.c. CHAMPIONSHIP BY OPENING AN UNBEATABLE LEAD IN THE POINTS TABLE. HE INCREASED HIS CHANCES OF WINNING THE 500 c.c. CROWN BY BEATING HIS LEADING RIVAL GIACOMO AGOSTINI IN A THRILLING 150 MILE AN HOUR DUEL.

    HE IS LISTED IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PLACINGS WITH 40 POINTS AGAINST AGOSTINI'S 24. THIS RACE ALMOST CLINCHED THE WORLD TITLE FOR HAILWOOD, WHO RIDES FOR HONDA. ONLY THREE MORE ROUNDS REMAIN.

    TEMPERATURES WERE NUDGING THEIR WAY INTO THE 100s AS HAILWOOD, TIGHTLY CLAD IN BLACK LEATHERS, ROARED AROUND THE 270 MILES COURSE.

    THERE WAS DISCOMFORT FOR HIM TOO IN THE 350 cc EVENT. SOMEWHERE ALONG THE COURSE HIS GOGGLES WERE BROKEN - BUT HE ROARED TO A WIN WITH PIECES OF GLASS STICKING TO HIS FACE.

    SECOND IN THE 350 c.c. EVENT WAS H. ROSNER AND THIRD WAS D. WOODMAN.

    IN THE 500 EVENT G. AGOSTINI CAME SECOND AND J. COOPER CAME THIRD.

    THE 125 C.C. EVENT WAS WON BY IVY AND THE 250 c.c. EVENT WAS WON BY READ.
