  • Description

The new head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Pimen, was installed in office at a three-hour service in Moscow's Yelokhovsky Cathedral on Thursday (June 3). He is only the fourth Patriarch to hold office since the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, and this film of the ceremony has just been received from Soviet Television. The sound on film, mainly of the choir singing, is excellent, and the traditionally colourful ceremony makes a very interesting and unusual film.
