    PRESIDENT NYERERE, WHO'S A ROMAN CATHOLIC, RECALLED TELLING MOSLEMS IN DAR-ES-SALAAM FIVE YEARS AGO HOW MUCH THEY LAGGED BEHIND CHRISTIANS IN SUCH ENTERPRISES. IT WAS GOOD, HE SAID, TO SEE THEY WERE NOW FACING REALITY AND HAD OVERCOME SECTARIAN DIFFERENCES IN THEIR JOINT EFFORT.

    THE PRESIDENT OF THE EAST AFRICAN MOSLEM WELFARE SOCIETY, DR. ALHAJ TEWA, SAID THAT THE UAR FINANCIAL HELP WAS ESPECIALLY GENEROUS IN VIEW OF THE WAR WITH ISRAEL, AND THAT HE PRAYED TO GOD FOR THE DEFEAT OF ALL EGYPT'S ENEMIES. THE CENTRE, ALREADY PARTLY COMPLETED WILL INCLUDE A MOSQUE AND A BOARDING SCHOOL. OTHER FACILITIES WILL INCLUDE A LIBRARY, ASSEMBLY HALL AND AN EXHIBITION AREA.
