    PRINCE RAINIER OF MONACO AND PRINCESS GRACE TODAY (SUNDAY) JOINED BRITISH VETERAN CAR ENTHUSIASTS ON THEIR ANNUAL RUN FROM LONDON TO BRIGHTON. WITH PRINCE RAINIER IN HIS DE DION BOUTON WAS HIS SON PRINCE ALBERT.

    TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY CARS, ALL OF THEM BUILT BEFORE 1905, TOOK PART IN THE RUN TO THE SOUTH COAST. THE OLDEST COMPETITOR WAS 74 YEARS.

    ALL BUT 19 VEHICLES COMPLETED THE 52 MILE DRIVE TO QUALIFY FOR THE COVETED FINISHERS MEDAL. THESE INCLUDED A FIRE-ENGINE, TRICYCLES, DOG-CARTS AND RUNABOUTS.

    FORMER WORLD CHAMPION RACING DRIVER, STIRLING MOSS, WAS AMONG THE CELEBRITIES TAKING PART IN THE EVENT. HE ARRIVED AT THE WHEEL OF A MERCEDES.
