    Background: Julius Nyerere, first African Chief Minister of Tanganyika following the territory's recent elections and enjoying overwhelming support from the African electors, chatted over drinks with John Stonehouse, Labour Member of Parliament for Wednesday, Staffs., UK, in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanganyika, Sept. 5.

    Stonehouse had already talked with other African leaders, including Zenya's Jomo Kenyatta, during a tour in which he said he was finding out at first hand about conditions in Africa. He was on his way to the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, where he has been proclaimed a prohibited immigrant. He says that as a British MP he will not be intimidated by the Federal Government.
