    THE ROYAL MILITARY CHAPEL - THE GUARD'S CHAPEL - IN WELLINGTON BARRACKS, WAS DEDICATED BY THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY, TODAY, (NOV.26TH).THE ORIGINAL WAS LARGELY DESTROYED BY A FLYING BOMB IN 1944.THE BOMB SCORED A DIRECT HIT DURING MORNING SERVICE, KILLING 120 PEOPLE.

    PARTS OF THE OLD BUILDING HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED IN THE NEW.THE SERVICE OF DEDICATION WAS ATTENDED BY MEMBERS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY, INCLUDING PRINCE PHILIP, WHO ARRIVED BACK FROM THE UNITED STATES WHERE HE ATTENDED THE FUNERAL OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY THE DAY BEFORE.THE DUKE WORE THE UNIFORM OF COLONEL OF THE WELSH GUARDS.

    THE COLONELS OF ALL BUT ONE OF THE GUARDS REGIMENTS WERE PRESENT.THE WHITE WALLS OF THE CHAPEL ARE HUNG WITH REGIMENTAL COLOURS DATING FROM BEFORE WATERLOO.

    CLIMAX OF THE CEREMONY CAME WHEN THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY PRONOUNCED THE DEDICATION.
