  • Description

The highest average annual temperature on the Caucasian Black Sea coast is in Sochi.

That's why the inflow of holiday-makers is unflagging even now that cool weather set in almost over all the territory of the Soviet Union and it was even snowing in some areas.

The natural beauties of this part of Soviet Subtropics will hardly leave the visitor unimpressed.

The Greater Sochi perched along the Black Sea coast over some 93 miles.

The snow-white buildings make up a part of the landscape.

Prominent in the architectural set up of the city are its sanatoria numbering over fifty.

From 1960 trade unions took over the responsibility for and management of all heath centres, sanatoria and holiday hotels.

All these centres open throughout the year with the most busy period is April through November.

Over two million people annually spend their vacations in Greater Sochi.
