    ROYAL MARINE COMMANDOS YESTERDAY (SUNDAY) TOOK OVER SECURITY DUTY IN ADEN'S STEAMER POINT FROM THE FIRST BATTALION, PRINCE OF WALES'S OWN REGIMENT OF YORKSHIRE. THE HANDOVER CAME AFTER ONE OF THE BUSIEST DAYS FOR THE MEN OF THE PRINCE OF WALES'S.

    ON SATURDAY, THREE ARABS WERE KILLED AND 11 PEOPLE, INCLUDING FOUR SOLDIERS OF THE PRINCE OF WALES'S, WERE WOUNDED IN ANTI-BRITISH VIOLENCE IN THE MAALLA AND STEAMER POINT AREAS.

    MOST OF THE CASUALTIES WERE IN STEAMER POINT WHERE THE BRITISH TROOPS WERE INVOLVED FOR NEARLY FIVE HOURS IN AN INTERMITTENT GUN BATTLE WITH ARAB NATIONALISTS HIDING IN BACK STREETS.

    THE ARAB NATIONALISTS LAUNCHED THEIR ATTACKS TO MARK THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARMED UPRISING AGAINST BRITISH RULE.

    YESTERDAY, THE 42 COMMANDOS OFFICIALLY TOOK OVER AT A BRIEF CEREMONY AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY MEN OF THE PRINCE OF WALES'S BEGAN PACKING FOR THE START OF THEIR WITHDRAWAL TODAY.
