Background: The final pullout of American troops from Vietnam is now in full swing. Servicemen lined up at Saigon airport today, some accompanied by their Vietnamese wives and children, to join the massive airlift to the United States. The last troops out of a rearguard of 5200 are due to leave aboard civilian and military transports by Thursday afternoon, local time. Some of them had be on kept waiting 12 days over a last-minute dispute between Washington and Hanoi. The dispute was settle when the Communists in Laos announced the release of mine men, eight of them Americans, who were being held in captivity.
