    AMERICAN FORCES ARE SWEEPING THROUGH THE JUNGLE ALONG THE BORDER BETWEEN SOUTH VIETNAM AND CAMBODIA IN OPERATION VICTORY, DESIGNED TO CLEAR VIET CONG FORCES FROM THE AREA.

    A TOTAL OF 75,000 SOLDIERS ARE INVOLVED IN OPERATION VICTORY, MOST OF THEM FROM THE U.S. TWENTY-FIFTH INFANTRY DIVISION. THEY'RE CONCENTRATED IN A 70 MILE (105 KILOMETRE) STRIP STRETCHING FROM SOUTH OF SAIGON TO THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS OF SOUTH VIETNAM.

    OUR FILM SHOWS AMERICAN SOLDIERS IN ACTION AT TAY NINH. THEY'D BEEN PRECEDED BY A B-52 BOMBERS THAT POUNDED THE AREA BEFORE ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIERS BROUGHT THE TROOPS THROUGH THE JUNGLE. THE AMERICANS CLAIMED THAT THIS ACTION RESULTED IN 69 VIET CONG DEAD AND THE DESTRUCTION OF 218-BUNKERS AND MORE THAN 1,000 YARDS (1,000 METRES) OF TRENCHES.
