    President Francois Tombalbaye of Ched, on a tour of Areb states with a forty-strong delegation, completed his four-day official visit to Iraq on Sunday (April 29) before flying on to the United Arab Emirates.

    During his stay in Iraq he held two rounds of talks with Iraqi President Ahmed Hassan Bakr on closer bilateral relations, and the two countries issued a joint communique.

    Earlier, President Tombalbaye visited Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The tour was designed to develop Chad's relations with Arab countries after Chad cut all ties with Israel last year. The African leader has declared Chad las one with the Arab world in the just struggle against Zionist aggression'.

    SYNOPSIS: The party moved off to the airport after signing the communique. There was an official departure ceremony after a motorcade trip through the streets of the ancient Arab city. The chadians were due to fly on to the United Arab Emirates for talks there. Earlier, President Tombalbaye visited Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

    The official farewell committee included members of Iraq's Ruling Revolutionary Command Council, other leaders of the Government, and the heads of several foreign diplomatic missions. Chad cut ties with Israel last year, along with other African nations, and the tour was designed to develop Chad's relations with the Arabs. President Tombalbaye has since said Chad is 'as one with the Arab world in the just struggle against Zionist aggression.
