    GHANA'S MINISTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT, DR. KYEREMATEN, THIS WEEK TOOK DELIVERY OF A CONSIGNMENT OF 40 BUSES ORDERED BY THE GOVERNMENT FROM THE YUGOSLAVIAN AUTOCENTRE.

    THE DELIVERY FORMS THE SECOND PART OF AN AGREEMENT SIGNED BETWEEN THE GHANA GOVERNMENT AND THE AUTOCENTRE IN 1965 FOR THE PURCHASE OF 180 BUSES WORTH 997 THOUSAND NEW CEDIS.

    THE CEREMONY TOOK PLACE AT TEMA HARBOUR. ONE THOUSAND AND TWENTY OF THE ORIGINAL CONSIGNMENT OF BUSES WERE SUPPLIED IN 1965 AND THE REST ARE DUE EARLY NEXT YEAR.

    THE CHARGE DE'AFFAIRES OF THE YUGOSLAV EMBASSY IN GHANA, MR. TAPAVICKI, DELIVERED THE KEYS OF THE BUSES TO DR. KYEREMATEN WHO ALTER INSPECTED THE VEHICLES.

    THE COMMISSIONER SAID THE BUSES WOULD RELIEVER THE STRAIN ON THE PRESENT DEPLETED FLEET AND WOULD GREATLY EASE PUBLIC ANXOETY OVER THEIR MOVEMENTS WITHIN VARIOUS CITIES AND MUNICIPALITIES.

    EACH BUS CAN CARRY 85 PASSENGERS.
