Archbishop Makarios has been putting water in his wine recently, probably pressed by the Greek Government and the actual political situation. After his yesterday's appeal to the Cyprus Greeks and Turks for Peace and Co-operation, followed by the Greek Premier's one. Makarios presented over this morning a decisive Ethnarchic Councillors Meeting at Athens Cyprus Ethnrachy Offices. This meeting, after having examined the evolution of the situation in Cyprus, discussed the possibility of bringing once again the Cyprus Issue before the next Assembly of the United Nations. Well informed circles said after the meeting that the Ethnarchic Council has decided to go ahead with the submission of the Issue and that the Greek permanent representative in the UNO Mr. Xanthopoulos-Palamas will have to take the matter before August 15th. The meeting did not exclude anyhow any eventual channel or talks with Governments for the finding of a solution of the Cyprus Problem.
