    The first lady ambassador to Liberia -- Mrs Obetsebi-Lamptey of Ghana -- presented her credentials to President Tubman in Monrovia on Monday (17 August).

    Waiting to greet the new ambassador at the Executive Mansion was State Protocol official, Nathaniel Gibson and President's Aide de Camp, General Samuel Johnson. Before presenting her credentials Mrs Lamptey inspected a military guard of honour.

    Mrs Lamptey told President Tubman that Liberia had brought honour to African womanhood by providing Mrs Angie Brooks-Randolph as President of the United Nations General Assembly.
