    MISS KOK'S TIME YESTERDAY WAS ONLY ONE MINUTE, FIVE POINT SEVEN SECONDS. HER WORLD RECORD TIME IS ONE MINUTE, FOUR POINT FIVE SECONDS.

    IN THE MEN'S EVENTS, DON SCHOLLANDER BECAME THE FIRST SWIMMER TO WIN THREE GOLD MEDALS AT THE PRE-OLYMPICS. HIS THIRD MEDAL CAME IN THE 200 METRES FREESTYLE YESTERDAY (THURSDAY). EARLIER HE HAD ALSO WON THE 100 METRES FREESTYLE, CLOCKING 54 POINT 5 SECONDS. SCHOLLANDER WON FOUR GOLD MEDALS AT THE 1964 OLYMPIC GAMES IN TOKYO.

    IN THE WOMEN'S BUTTERFLY EVENT MISS KOKO FINISHED JUST UNDER ONE SECOND AHEAD OF THE AMERICAN MISS DANIEL.

    SCHOLLANDER HAD TO FIGHT HARD, FINISHING ONLY ONE TENTH OF A SECOND AHEAD OF THE SOVIET SWIMMER KULIKOV.
