    INTRODUCED BY HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW, R. SARGENT SHRIVER, THE DIRECTOR OF THE PEACE CORPS, PRESIDENT KENNEDY PRAISED THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO HIS INAUGURAL SPEECH APPEAL FOR A NEW "SPIRIT" AMONG AMERICAN YOUTH.

    VOLUNTEER GEOLOGISTS, SURVEYORS, ENGINEERS ASSIGNED TO TANGANYIKA WILL HAVE BEEN TRAINED AT TEXAS WESTERN COLLEGE. ON AUG 31 THEY FLY TO PUERTO RICE FOR 29-DAYS FINAL TRAINING BEFORE FLYING OUT TO TANGANYIKA, WHERE THEY WILL BE INTEGRATED INTO THE TANGANYIKA CIVIL SERVICE IN ROAD BUILDING PROJECTS.

    THE GROUP ASSIGNED TO GHANA-MAINLY TEACHERS - FLEW TO ACCRA, THE CAPITAL, AUG 29. THEY WILL RECEIVE TWO WEEKS OF FINAL TRAINING AT UNIVERSITY COLLEGE IN LEGON BEFORE STARTING WORK IN GHANA'S SCHOOLS.
