  • Description

As they continue their advance into Cambodia, South Vietnamese forces have located a Viet Cong and North Vietnamese supply base with stores of food and livestock.

The base, on an extension of the Ho Chi Minh trail, contained stacks of rice and live pigs and chickens.

The troops were landed at the base by helicopter. They found supply houses stacked with rice and manioc (a potato-like vegetable) as well as livestock.

They also found a rudimentary foot-operated rice mill in the camp, and a number of chickens in the area.

From documents found there the South Vietnamese believe the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese used the camp as a rehabilitation area and supply camp for their soldiers.

The South Vietnamese set alight to some of the huts in the camp. Food and livestock was moved to another area to feed other troops and a shot-down helicopter was moved away by a bigger helicopter.
