  • Description

A Yugoslavian floating exhibition on board the M.S. Liburnija visited Sierra Leone this week on an international tour. This production, which shows the opening of the exhibition, is an interesting example of the increasing East European trade interest in Africa, especially on the West Coast.

SYNOPSIS: A floating Yugoslavian industrial exhibition, on board the M.S. Liburnija, called at Freetown in Sierra Leone this week while on an international tour.

The Sierra Leone Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Bangali Mansary, who performed the opening ceremony, was among several government officials and members of the diplomatic corps who attended the exhibition. The Prime Minister, Dr. Siaka Stevens, was also there.

Yugoslav hosts were on hand to show the visitors around the exhibits, which included tractors, electrical goods, household appliances, building materials, vehicle parts, pharmaceutical, and clothing.

A spokesman for the exhibition later said it was hoped that the tour would improve trade relations between Yugoslavia and Sierra Leone. So far, the exhibition has visited 18 other countries, including six West African states.
