    FIFTY MOUNTED POLICE WERE BROUGHT IN TO HERD THE DEMONSTRATORS TOGETHER WHILE OTHERS BUNDLED THEM INTO VANS AND LORRIES. WATER CANNONS WERE USED TO CLEAR THE STREETS AND MANY EASTER STROLLERS WERE SOAKED BY JETS FROM HIGH PRESSURE HOSES REACHING SIDEWALK CAFETERIAS.
