    THE PARTY DEMANDED THAT THEY SHOULD BE CALLED UPON TO FORM A NEW GOVERNMENT.BUT OF THEIR 40 MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT ELECTED TO THE NEW 133-SEAT STATE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY, 29 ARE UNDER DETENTION.THE CHARGE AGAINST THEM IS OF PLOTTING VIOLENT REVOLUTION IN INDIA IN COLLUSION WITH CHINA.

    THEIR LEADER MR NAMBOODIRIPAD TOLD REPORTERS IN TRIVANDRUM, THE KERALA CAPITAL, HE HAD DEMANDED THE RELEASE OF THOSE UNDER DETENTION.MR NAMBOODIRIPAD WAS KERALA'S CHIEF MINISTER OF THE COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT FROM 1957 TO 1959.

    IN DELHI YESTERDAY (SATURDAY) IT WAS STATED THAT THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT HAD SERVED FRESH DETENTION ORDERS ON ALL LEFTIST (PRO-PEKING) COMMUNISTS TO FORESTALL ANY MOVE BY A POSSIBLE LEFTIST STATE GOVERNMENT TO FREE THEM.AMONG THE 900 COMMUNISTS HELD AFTER A NATION-WIDE SWOOP TWO MONTHS AGO, 144 COME FROM KERALA.
